Stillborn

I gave you

a name

~

was that to console you

or console me

honestly I don’t know

~

everyone learns differently

everyone grieves differently

~

I’m lost in a vast sea

with no map

navigating emotions

~

you’re my lifeline

~

tears

  1. My mother had twins born too early. Back then, they could do nothing but let them die. To this day, she regrets never naming them, holding them, or saying goodbye. They told her just not to look.

  2. It could very well be that it consoled you both ….

Names are very powerful … perhaps it’s just fanciful on my part, but, I’d like to believe that by naming him, you were tied together, and his name will be the most sacred thing you possess.
