It takes a lot of practice to draw lines so perfectly equidistant. My father taught me to drop my little finger on the surface and use it to stabilize my drawing hand. Not easy on asphalt though. I like this spiral very much…its counter-time-clockwise movement….but especially its tilt in the world.
the spiral is such a simple form, yet it has so much complexity, doesn’t it? the images it conjures up … the symbols and metaphors … it’s happy, and sad, and energetic and lethargic. i’m glad you had so much fun … sometimes being a kid, with chalk and a sidewalk is the perfect thing to be.
