      • In choosing to take an action, we are also choosing the outcome — or, at least, we are choosing a set of possible outcomes. So, yes, in a sense, we control the outcome by first making the choice to act. Not taking said action also controls outcome by creating new possible outcomes based on inaction …

        We may not have 100% control over outcome, because “fate” can intervene … i.e. fall and break a leg, but, choosing to take an action, we hope to achieve a certain outcome … just because we didn’t achieve the outcome doesn’t mean we don’t have control … it means we didn’t think through all the possible outcomes.
